Chad Davis

     Chad Davis, 41, of Clear Lake, died Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at his home of a heart attack.
    A gathering of family and friends for a celebration and sharing of memories of Chad’s life was held Sunday July 8, 2012.
    Chad was born Nov. 15, 1970 in Belmond, Iowa the son of Ron and Russalyn (Gaetzke) Davis.  He graduated from Ventura High School in 1989.   

    He worked construction throughout the United States and moved back to Clear Lake in 2008 and continued to work construction.  Chad was working for Brad’s Dock and Hoist at the time of his death.
    Chad enjoyed driving and working on drag racers, listening to music and watching movies.
    He is survived by his parents Ron and Russalyn Davis, Hanlontown, Iowa; brother Craig (Sarah) Davis, Cedar Falls, Iowa and their children, Morgan, Ava and Trevor; grandfather, Oscar Davis, Clear Lake; grandmother, Evelyn Gaetzke, Meservey, Iowa;  aunts and uncles Linda Smeby, Rockwell, Iowa, Darlene (Budd) Porter, Apple Valley, Calif., Rosann (Jerry) Fredin, Wichita, Kan., Greg Gaetzke, Frederika, Iowa, Barb (Mark) Bailey, Belmond, and Reese Gaetzke, Meservey.
    He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Maxine Davis; grandfather, Russell Gaetzke; great uncle and aunt, Howard and Verna Oehlert and a cousin, Chris Catania. 
    Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake was in charge of arrangements.
