Cardinals earn runner-up honors at North Iowa Meet

  The Garner-Hayfield/Ventura boys golf team earned runner-up honors on Friday, April 26, at the North Iowa Meet.  Lake Mills took home the championship with159 points.

“This was an important meet for us to play in, because the conference meet will be played at North Iowa,” said Coach Ken Krause.

Rounding out the team scores was North Iowa with 180 points and West Hancock with a 197.

Jacob Heinemann led the Cardinals, carding a (41).  Also competing were Matt Schroeder (43), Braeden Johnston, (44), Cory Boeckman, (45), Ryan Grunwald, (45), and Mitch Lunning (49).

“We had balanced scoring on a great day to play golf,” said Coach Ken Krause.  “As usual, we had a few bad holes that spoiled some good rounds.”
