Brenna Lynn was born on Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2011, in Iowa City, Iowa, the daughter of Jeriah and Shawna (DuRocher) Shank. Brenna was born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS) which, after a long, hard fight, eventually caused her heart to fail. Throughout her life, Brenna proved over and over again how much of a fighter she was as she jumped over each hurdle in her way. With her sassy attitude (just try to change her diaper!) she won the hearts of all her family, friends, and hospital staff. Her parents could not be more proud or thankful for her life and the blessing from God. She was, and always will be, in their lives.
Those left to cherish her memory include her parents; a sister, Hannah Lynn, age two; grandparents, Earl and Sue DuRocher of Colfax, Iowa, and John and Mary Kamberger of Clear Lake; great-grandparents, Marcella Warner of Colfax, Madelyn and Ellsworth Shank of Maryland and L. Edward and Julia Kamberger of Florida; her great-great-grandmother, Lola Ruppert of Maryland; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Preceding Brenna in death was her grandfather, John Andrew Shank; great-grandparents, Harold Warner, Earl and Lucille DuRocher, Eleanore and Joseph Cambardella, and Lois Kamberger.
