Boat ramp damaged

City crews worked to relieve pressure from the ice at the end of the Main Avenue boat ramp Thursday after ice caused a heave in the concrete ramp.

Approximately 11-feet of the concrete on the street side of the heave was removed, along with 25-feet of ice at the end of the ramp in an effort to keep the damage to a minimum.  The DNR confirmed aerators are turned on, but relatively light winds have prevented large areas of open water from appearing to date.-Reporter photo.
