Accident near Ventura

Four persons were injured in a two-vehicle accident Wednesday, April 30, near Ventura.  The Iowa State Patrol reported Rachel Formanek, 18, of Clear Lake, was traveling westbound on 260th Street at about 2:35 p.m. when she failed to obey a stop sign and was hit by a vehicle driven by Elaine Heesch, 64, of Forest City, who was northbound on Balsam Avenue.  Both drivers and 

passengers in their vehicles, Taylor Reising, 18, of Garner, and Susan Heesch, 69, of Forest City, were taken to Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa.  Formanek and Reising were treated and released.  No condition reports were available for the Heesches.  Formanek was cited for failure to obey a stop sign and failure to wear a safety belt.  Ventura firefighers and Clear Lake and Garner Ambulance personnel assisted at the scene.-Photo by Chris Barragy.
