2011 CL boys golf team recognized

The 2011 Clear Lake boy’s golf team was recognized at the basketball game on Friday, Dec. 16, for capturing the Class 3A State Championship at Ames Golf and Country Club, marking the sixth time in school history.  During

State competition, the Lions shot a two-day total of 630, highlighted by overcoming a 10-stroke deficit on the second day to win by five strokes.  Brent Tarr also won a sudden death playoff for individual medalist and State Individual Champion.  Luke Monson finished one stroke back in fourth place and earned First Team All-Tournament honors along with Tarr.  The team completed the season 52-10, which included the NCC Dual and Tournament Championships. 2011 State Golf champions included (L-R):  Chase Duesenberg, Luke Monson, Ryan Iverson, Jared Bottjen, Brent Tarr and Shawn Snelling.  -Reporter photo
