CLHS presents diplomas to 111
One hundred-eleven members of the Clear Lake High School Class of 2015 received their diplomas Sunday, May 17.
Senior speakers Lindsay Kearns and Lauren Hewitt encouraged their classmates to dream big, but remember the lessons learned at CLHS and the guidance they received from their teachers.
“Live the life you have always imagined,” Kearns said, smiling as she revealed a Superman T-shirt under her gown.
Hewitt told her classmates to “get off the Internet — go out and explore.” Her advice also included being forgiving both of others and of themselves and remembering that people are more important than things. Do not fear failure, she said.
Superintendent Anita Micich told the graduates they have been a strong reflection on their community and challenged them to go out and make their mark in the world.
School Board President Mark Tesar agreed and encouraged the group to use their talents and energy to help those in need. He noted that he hopes many will continue to make Clear Lake their home after they have studied and explored.
