Molly was born at home July 19, 1933, in rural Mason City, the daughter of Herman and Grace (Gildner) Hansen. She attended school in Plymouth, lettering in varsity basketball eighth through twelfth grades, graduating in 1951. Molly worked at the House of Vision from 1951-1953. She married Vernon Trettin Dec. 20, 1953, in Mason City, and to this union were born four children. She worked nights as a nurses’ aid at Mercy Hospital beginning in 1967 and retiring in 1995. When Molly was in her early 30s, she was confronted with the fact that she was a sinner. That night in her home, she trusted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. Molly loved her family and spent many hours babysitting her grandchildren and even great grandchildren. Molly was an active member of Faith Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school, enjoyed the “Old Faithfuls,” and served in the Ladies’ Missionary Fellowship, spending countless hours writing cards and sending packages to missionaries and college students. She also volunteered in numerous ways at the Iowa Regular Baptist Camp in Ventura.
Molly is survived by one son, Michael (Judy) Trettin, of Saint Peter, Minn.; two daughters, Mary (David) Callison, of Ventura, and Teresa Trettin, of Des Moines; six grandchildren, Patrick Trettin, Shane (Lynnae) Callison, Joel (Amber) Callison, Alyssa (Paul) Speed, Jared (Abby) Callison, and Casey (Tyler) Henaman; five great-grandchildren, Cole and Blair Henaman, Cayden, Carson and Chase Callison; siblings, LaVonne Willford, of Mason City, Richard (Veryl) Hansen, of Cedar Rapids, Colleen Stevens, of Colorado, and Gerald (Laquetta) Hansen, of Smyrna Beach, Fla.; several nieces and nephews.
