GHV boys improve record to 15-6

The Garner-Hayfield/Ventura boys improved their season record to 15-6 after defeating Osage on Monday, May 4.  The Cardinals recorded a solid 167, while Osage posted a 184.

Medalist honors went to Grady Umbarger, who carded a 37.  

“Grady is playing excellent golf, shooting his third straight 37.  He is all about hard work and getting better,” said Coach Ken Krause.

The final three GHV golfers were very close.  Matthew Heinemann tied for runner-up honors with a 42, followed by Braeden Johnston with a 43 and Ryan Grunwald and Jordan Babcock both carded a 45.

“Matthew is one of the most solid freshman that we have had in a number of years, while Braedon has scored between 40 and 44 in seven of the last eight meets.
