Investigation continues into vehicle crash into City Park
A woman who crashed her vehicle into a power transformer at Clear Lake City Park Sunday night remains in fair condition at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa.
According to the Clear Lake Police Department, Pamela Brennecke, 50, of Clear Lake, was southbound on North Shore Drive when she failed to stop at the intersection of North Shore and 1st Avenue North and struck an Interstate Power transformer box located in the park. Brennecke’s vehicle traveled over the power box and landed on its nose before coming to rest on its side.
The accident was reported after 6 p.m. Sunday.
The Clear Lake Fire Department had to use the Jaws of Life to free Brennecke from the vehicle. She was transported by Clear Lake medics to Mercy Hospital.
The CLPD is continuing to investigate the accident.
There were no other passengers in the vehicle.
The Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Department, CLPD, Clear Lake Fire Department and a crew from Alliant Energy responded to the scene.
