Loose ends tied up on city projects, reports

    The Clear Lake City Council put the wraps on a number of projects Monday night during one of the final regular Council meetings of the year.
    Jason Petersburg, of Veenstra & Kimm, reported work on the CDBG Sanitary Sewer Collection System Improvement Project is now complete between North Shore Drive and Buddy Holly Place, and on Highway 18 west to Buddy Holly Place.  And after making a repair to a casing pipe, R&R Excavating is expected to finish work on the final

piece, located at 20th Street to the south side of Highway 18.  Crews were on the scene Sunday and Monday and the first phase of the project should be completed in a week.
    Work is also complete, until paving in the spring, on the 10th Avenue North Street Reconstruction Project (5th Place North to Buddy Holly Place). Petersburg said Yohn Construction, acting as a subcontractor for Wicks Construction, has finished underground work in the area, with the exception of a few punch list items.
    The Council also voted to accept the work and approve final payment to Dean Snyder Construction on the new parking lot at 19 S. 3rd Street.  The lot was recently opened with a demonstration of its unique paving process which provides filtration of sediments to the storm sewer lines and eventually the nearby lake.  A portion of the project related to water quality improvements is being reimbursed to the City by the CLEAR Project.
    Annual Appropriation Development Agreements were also approved with three local groups: Snyder Construction Partnership (MossBuster), North Iowa Cultural Center & Museum, and Titan Pro SCI.  The agreements were renewed with resolutions for - Read More Via e-Edition
