Katherine Kiroff
Katherine (Kavars) Kiroff, 82, of Mason City, died Tuesday, July 12, 2011, at Mercy Medical Center North Iowa, Mason City, Iowa.
A funeral service was held Saturday, July 16, at Hogan Bremer Moore Colonial Chapel, Mason City with the Reverend Joseph Mirowski officiating. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City.

Katherine Kavars was born Jan. 18, 1929, in Mason City, the daughter of Nick and Bertha (DeGraff) Kavars. She graduated from Mason City High School. After high school she worked various jobs. Katherine was united in marriage to Stephen Kiroff. To this union three children were born. She worked several years for Armour-Decker Meat Packing Plant.
Katherine enjoyed playing cards, Bingo, Pinochle, and tending to her flower garden. Her greatest love was spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary.
Katherine is survived by her children, Mark (Penny Sandvig) Kiroff, Clear Lake, Sheldon Kiroff and Debera (Reinhold) Speckmeier, all of Mason City; grandchildren, Jacob and Cody Kiroff, Reinhold Speckmeier, Zakariah, Allison and Matthew Kiroff; four great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Marlene Kavars, Mason City; along with numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
Katherine is preceded in death by her parents, Nick and Bertha Kavars; husband, Stephen Kiroff; and siblings, Delma, George, John, Steve, James, and Gus Kavars.
