    Carolyn Glee House Mahaffey, 73, 109 N. 16th St., Clear Lake, IA, died Tuesday, April 3, 2012 of injuries sustained in a vehicle/pedestrian accident.  A Celebration of Life Service was held Monday, April 9, at Zion Lutheran Church, Clear Lake, with Rev. Dean Hess officiating.    According to her wishes, her body has been cremated.  A private

Denise Powers

    Denise Renee (Clapper) Powers, 47, of 115 Little Ojai Dr., Indian Mound, Tenn., died Thursday, Feb. 16, 2012 at Blanchfield Army Hospital in Fort Campbell, Ky, after a courageous battle with cancer.
    Funeral services were held Monday, Feb. 20, at Dyers Creek Church of God with the Rev. Jeff Wallace officiating.

Margaret Riseling

    Margaret Riseling, formerly of Clear Lake, passed away Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012, in Michigan City, Ind.  Memorial services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 28, at 1 p.m. at the Root Funeral Home in Michigan City.

Nellie Wilcox

    Nell Irene Wilcox, 97, Clear Lake, died Saturday, Dec. 10, 2011 at the Oakwood Care Center, Clear Lake.  A private inurnment was held at the Clear Lake Cemetery with Pastors Jill and Bob Brandstad of the Community of Christ Church officiating.  A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.  Memorials may be given to the Community of Christ Church or Hospice of North Iowa.

Margie Anderson Wally Anderson

 

Margie Anderson and Wally Anderson of Apache Junction, Ariz., formerly of 605 17th St. W, Clear Lake, passed away within days of each other.  Marjorie D. Anderson, 90, went home to be with her Lord Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at Hospice of the Valley in Mesa, Ariz., after suffering a stroke the week prior.  Wallace L. Anderson, 90, went up to meet her just six days later on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at home in Apache Junction. Both were surrounded by family at the end. 

Corrie Born

 

Corrie Born, 90, of Sioux Center, Iowa, died Friday, Feb. 22, 2013 at Royale Meadows Care Center in Sioux Center.

A funeral service was held Monday at the Memorial Funeral Home of Sioux Center with Rev.  A.T. Ver Gunst officiating.  Interment followed in Memory Gardens Cemetery of Sioux Center.

Ronald Smith

 

Ronald C. Smith, 63, of Clear Lake, Iowa, died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013 at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City, Iowa.

Visitation was Thursday at the Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, and following the visitation he was cremated.   A memorial service was held on Friday, Jan. 11, 2013 at the Clear Lake United Methodist 

Church, Clear Lake, with Reverend Bernie Colorado officiating.  Inurnment will follow later at the Crystal Township Cemetery, Crystal Lake, Iowa. 

Gilbert Luker

 

Gilbert K. Luker, 93, of Mason City, Iowa, and formerly of Clear Lake, Iowa, died Monday, Dec. 17, 2012 at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City, surrounded by his family.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 21, 2012 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 419 N. Delaware Ave., Mason City, with the Rev. Mark Lavrenz officiating.  Committal services will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City.

Thomas Kofoed

Thomas J. Kofoed, 91, of Ashland, Ill. died Monday morning, Nov. 19, 2012 at Heritage Health in Springfield, Ill.

  He was born April 17, 1921 in rural Thornton, Iowa, the son of Thomas and Jennie Clausen Kofoed.  He married Rita Jean Nall on Feb. 17, 1968 at the Faith Lutheran Church in Springfield and she survives.

  He is also survived by a daughter, Janice Arlene Hangman (husband, Norman) of Waianae, Hawaii; 

Dorance Baack

 

Dorance Baack, 79, of Clear Lake, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2012 at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City, Iowa.

A funeral service was held on Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012 at Zion Lutheran Church in Clear Lake with Rev. Dean Hess officiating. Burial was at the Clear Lake Cemetery.  Memorials may be directed to the Dorance Baack Memorial Fund or to Zion Lutheran Church in Clear Lake.
