Ronald Mosher
Ronald “Ron” Mosher, 85, of Hastings, Minn., formerly of Clear Lake, passed away on Jan. 15, 2015. A memorial service was held on Saturday, Jan. 31, at the Calvary Christian Church, in Hastings.
Ronald Clare Mosher was born on April 25, 1929, in Dumont, Iowa, the son of Clare and Frida (Andersen) Mosher. He went to school in Clear Lake and graduated with the class of 1947.
Ron and his parents managed the Lake Theater and the City Beach Bath House for many years. He was a member of the Clear Lake Jaycees and enjoyed being involved with the Miss Iowa Pageant. Ron was an active member of First Congregational Church, Clear Lake.
Ron was the office manager for Zeidler Concrete Products in Clear Lake for 26 years. In 1973, he and his brother, Dennis, purchased and operated the Gamble Store on Main Street.
On May 6, 1978, Ron married Donna St. Germain at the First Congregational Church, Clear Lake. He then moved to St. Paul, Minn., where Donna and her family lived. Donna had three daughters, and Ron stepped in to be their loving father.
Ron worked in St. Paul with real estate and for a metric nut and bolt company. After retirement, he was an event planner for several area schools.
Ron is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Donna, of Hastings; three daughters, Lydia (Mark) Drexler, Laurie LaBelle and Ann Scanlon; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Dee Mosher, of Clear Lake; a niece and two nephews, Rochelle (Jeff) Kracht, Monte (Jennifer) Mosher, and Dean (Lisa) Mosher.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Clare and Frida Mosher; and his brother, Dennis Mosher.
