Richard Tarr

Richard “Dick” Tarr, 75, of Champaign, Ill., passed away at Bo Wood Campground, in Sullivan, Ill., on Monday, May 26, 2014.  Please join his family for a one year memorial service being held at the Clear Lake Cemetery on Saturday, May 23, 2015 at 11 a.m., where his cremated remains will be laid to rest.  Following the ceremony, family and friends are welcome to celebrate his life at a luncheon located at the home of William and Pat Tarr, 19738 

Heather Avenue, Clear Lake.  

Dick was born on Nov. 4, 1938, in Clear Lake, to parents Ralph and Ruth (French) Tarr.   

He is survived by children Robin Johnson, of Michigan, Jody Kovich, of Michigan, Jeff Baire, Indiana, Teresa West, Arizona, Kathy Tarr, of Michigan, and Anthony Tarr, of Indiana; brothers, Don Tarr, of Wisconsin, Bill Tarr, of Iowa, and Keith Tarr, of Iowa; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.  

Dick was preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Clarence O. Seidel; two sisters and three brothers.  

He retired as a Tech-Sargent from the United States Air Force and later retired as a fire-fighter for the Eastern Prairie Fire Dept.  He then worked as a truck driver and later drove a school bus for the Champaign County School District.  He was also a member of the V.F.W. and American Legion.
