Pat Boone will headline 2012 Winter Dance Party

Chuck Berry cancels Feb. 4 appearance at Surf

The Surf Ballroom & Museum has announced Chuck Berry will not be appearing as the headlining act for the 2012 Winter Dance Party.  Pat Boone has been secured to headline the event.  Chuck Berry was scheduled to appear on Saturday, Feb. 4, during the annual tribute.
    “We obviously were extremely disappointed to learn that Chuck Berry isn’t able to be with us,” stated Laurie Lietz, Surf Ballroom executive

director.  “However, we are thrilled to announce Pat Boone as the headliner. He was-- and still is-- a well-renowned performer within the early period of rock. We are looking forward to a terrific show.”
    Boone has sold more than 45 million albums, had 38 Top 40 hits and appeared in more than 12 Hollywood movies.  His talent as a singer and actor, combined with his old-fashioned values, contributed to his popularity in the early rock and roll era.
