Nancy Knapp

Nancy Knapp, 63, of Palm Springs, Calif., passed away peacefully on March 1, 2015, at Desert Regional Medical Center. 

A memorial service celebrating her life and achievements was held at the Weifels and Sons Funeral Home in Palm Springs, on Sunday, March 22, 2015. Memorial donations can be made by US Mail at 13543 Mountain Top Drive, Desert Hot Springs, CA 92240. Nancy was born July 6, 1951, in Charles City, Iowa.

Nancy was the proud owner and operator of Desert Goldens in Southern California where she trained dogs for people with special needs, bred show quality Golden Retrievers, and offered basic obedience training. She took tremendous pride in her business that took more than 25 years to build. She leaves behind a legacy of beautiful puppies and dogs that she created over the years. She showed overwhelming love and compassion for her puppies and their families. Along with several other awards, Nancy has been listed in Who’s Who Among Business Professionals and recognized as a top breeder by the American Kennel Club for her kennel and business practices.

Nancy is preceeded in death by her first son, Eric, who passed away on March 18, 2006, of Muscular Dystrophy. 

She is survived by her husband, Lonnie, of 43 years; and two sons, Jamie, 30, and Dusty, 27.
