Garner woman dies in head-on collision

A Garner woman was killed when her vehicle crossed the center line and struck two other vehicles Thursday, May 21.

The Iowa State Patrol reports the accident happened on US Highway 18 shortly after 4:45 p.m.

Darla Asche, 55, of Garner, was driving westbound on Highway 18 when her vehicle crossed the center line and struck an eastbound vehicle driven by 62-year-old Norma Lovstad, of Burt, with 84-year-old Donna Geving, a passenger.  The Lovstad vehicle went into the ditch and Asche struck a second eastbound vehicle head-on.  That vehicle was driven by 26-year-old Megan Brood, of Rockwell, 

Lovstad, Geving, and Brood were taken to Mercy-North Iowa in Mason City, where their conditions have not been reported.
