Clear Lake girls drop three in tough week of volleyball
The Clear Lake volleyball team was shut out in three matches played last week. The team will be looking to bounce back this week at Humboldt Thursday, Oct. 9, and at a Mason City tournament Saturday, Oct. 11.
Algona 3, CL 0
The Lions played at Algona Tuesday, Sept. 30. The Bulldogs prevailed, 3-0, by scores of 25-14, 25-17, 25-11.
“It was a tough night. Our passing was fairly inconsistent throughout the course of the night, which made it difficult to get our attacking going. Our defense did well enough to provide us with opportunities at the net, but we just couldn’t capitalize,” said Coach Keith Sears.
Emily Phalen, Lindsey Loudenburg and Emily Snelling had three kills apiece for the Lions. Phalen also topped the team in digs, with 24. Kaye Faber made 10 assists and the team served at 92 percent efficiency, noted Coach Sears. - Read More Via e-Edition
