Chamber readies plan for fireworks funding campaign
Since 2010, the Clear Lake Area Chamber has been planning and strategizing how to address the future funding of the Fireworks Display, according to Executive Director Tim Coffey.
Its historical significance to the community both as a multi-generational tradition and its economic impact has concerned the Chamber for many years. With the passing of Arlene Hughes, a major fireworks benefactor,
concern was raised about the Chamber’s ability to successfully raise the needed annual funds for future fireworks displays.
“In November 2012, the Chamber Executive Board decided to execute an ongoing, permanent support plan, starting with a survey of the community to test the feasibility of such a proposed plan,” said Coffey. “The Chamber is now in the final planning stages to secure funding for this new plan. More details on the upcoming campaign will be coming soon.”
