Colon meets familiar foe in first round of NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships

The NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships are slated to begin this week on Thursday, March 15, at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Mo.  Joe Colon, a former Clear Lake High School wrestler, will be taking the mat for the University of

Northern Iowa Panthers.
    Colon is one of two Panthers to be awarded a seed. A total of five UNI wrestlers have qualified for the championships. 
    Colon, a redshirt sophomore who wrestles at 133 pounds, will be the number five seed in the field.  He has compiled an impressive 25-2 record for the Panthers.
    The first round of the NCAA will pit Colon against a familiar foe.  He will face Ridge Kiley, now a wrestler for Nebraska.  Colon and Kiley first met in high school at the North Central Conference wrestling tournament in 2008.  At that meet, Colon was ranked number one, while Kiley, who wrestled for Eagle Grove, was- Read More Via e-Edition
