Vehicle accident leads to lawsuit against CL School District
A lawsuit has been filed against the Clear Lake Community School District in connection with a 2010 vehicular accident.
A lawsuit was filed in Cerro Gordo County District Court Jan. 25 on behalf of Gasim Magzoub, alleging Magzoub was seriously injured in a vehicle collision on Feb. 28, 2010
at mile marker 192 on Interstate 35. The suit states Loras Peter McLaughlin, Clear Lake, was operating a vehicle owned by the Clear Lake School District. The suit alleges the cause of the accident was negligent, careless and unlawful operation of the vehicle.
Magzoub is seeking actual and punitive damages, costs, attorney fees and other sums the court may deem just under the circumstances.
Clear Lake School Board President Deb Betz declined to comment on the lawsuit.
