Swenson takes over coaching duties for the Clear Lake volleyball team
The Clear Lake volleyball program is under the direction of a new coach this season.
Scott Swenson, takes over the reins of a program which posted a record of 15-13 last season (6-3 in the North Central Conference).

Ryan Pierce is the lone senior on the Lions team this season. She will be joined by juniors Taylor Julsen, Jenna Peterson, Anne Tesar, Megan Kopriva, Brianna Haugen, Kaitlyn Pitzen, Carly Ouverson, Emily Willms, Jeanette Davis, Rachel Purcell, and Brittney Arndt on the varsity team.
“We will be a young team with great expectations,” said Coach Swenson. “It is a golden opportunity for some the players to rise above and show their volleyball abilities.
He noted that most of the girls took part in club volleyball in the off-season and the Lions played in the Estherville team camp.
The team has set a goal of using steady play to get themselves in contention for a conference title.
Joining Coach Swenson to help the team to achieve its goals will be coaches Rich Peters, Kari Carlson and Emily Hill. Peters is a volunteer varsity assistant coach; Carlson will direct the junior varsity squad; Hill will coach the ninth grade team.
