Senior leadership and dedication to be key to Clear Lake X-C success
Clear Lake Cross Country Co-Coaches Lothar Meyer and Jerry Morris are excited to get the 2011 season off and running. According to the longtime coaches, both harrier teams have good senior leadership and dedicated runners.
“Many put in miles over the summer and some attended camps,” say the coaches.
The Lions graduated standout Alana Enabnit, whose top finish at the North Central Conference meet helped the Lions finish third last year. But six returning letterwinners look to keep the Lions at the top of the pack.
Among those experienced runners are Steph Faught and Trudy Peterson, who each recorded top 20 finishes at the NCC meet last fall. Faught, a senior, placed 12th, while Peterson, a sophomore, was 19th. Also back are juniors Sierra Greiman and Amie Adams, who finished 23rd and 33rd at the NCC race. Seniors Rebecca Baker and Sally Story are also experienced runners for the Lions.
The boys team also graduated its leader in the 2010 season, Grant Peterson. This year, seniors Jacob Baker and Troy Jandebeur are joined by sophomores Antonio DiMarco and Jake Iverson in the letterwinner ranks. Baker - Read More via e-Edition
