The days of taking time out of your schedule to go to student registration, waiting in the lines and filling out paper forms are over.
Beginning next week (Aug. 1) Clear Lake Schools student registration will be done online for the 2018-19 school year. Online student registration and National School Lunch Program (NSLP) free and reduced lunch applications will be completed using Infinite Campus, and can be completed from anywhere there is access to the Internet.
The Clear Lake School District began using Infinite Campus in 2006, according to District Technology Director Jason Christenson.
“Infinite Campus is our student information system that does everything regarding students, including attendance, grades, assignments, food service, transportation, health, parent/student portal and more,” he explained. He said the Clear Lake School District has been planning to implement the online registration process for several years and joins many districts doing online registration or some form of it.
“It is quite a large project. We began discussing this two years ago and have worked on the deployment since September of 2017 to get it ready for August 2018. We continue to work on the system daily,” added Christenson.
News and information about online registration is posted on the district website (www.clearlakeschools.org), sent to parents/guardians with an Infinite Campus Portal account and posted on the district’s social media pages.
