High speed chase on I-35 lands Missouri woman in jail

A Liberty, Mo., woman led law enforcement on a high speed chase from County Road B-20, just north of Clear Lake, into Minnesota Monday before being arrested and charged with a litany of offenses.

At approximately 7:02 p.m. a Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Deputy attempted a traffic stop on a 2005 Dodge Ram pickup truck for speeding on 300th Street (County Road B-20) in Cerro Gordo County.  The truck turned north onto Interstate 35 and fled from the deputy, reaching speeds of approximately 110 mph.  During the pursuit the driver was throwing items out of the vehicle which were later recovered.

The driver, Monica Christine Lynch, 45, continued to flee from law enforcement, driving out of Cerro Gordo County, through Worth County, and ending up in Freeborn County, Minn., where deputies attempted to stop the vehicle with stop sticks.  Lynch drove off the roadway, stopped, and was taken into custody with no further incident.
