Officials with Mercy One have announced they expect to receive a shipment of a coronavirus vaccine next week.
A statement from the hospital read: “With the vaccine now only days away, we are turning a corner in this global health crisis. MercyOne is confident in the safety and efficacy of the vaccine with the FDA approval. We strongly encourage everyone ages 16 and older to be vaccinated.”
MercyOne North Iowa will receive the Moderna vaccine for colleagues and providers. The Moderna vaccine will be reviewed by the FDA for Emergency Use Approval this Thursday. If approved, the vaccine should arrive in North Iowa early next week.
