The Ventura City Council will hold a workshop session at 7 p.m. tonight (Wednesday, Sept. 19) in the Library Meeting Room to discuss the possible purchase of digital radar signs.  City leaders are considering the digital signs as a way to heighten awareness of slow speed limits through the town.

   

City pursues ambulance purchase

The Clear Lake City Council heard a request Monday for the purchase of a new ambulance.  The vehicle would replace one of two units the city purchased in 2005.

City Administrator Scott Flory reported that in recent months the 2006 Ford F450, one of two ambulances the city purchased in 2005, has experienced significant engine and other mechanical problems that make it unfit for 

   

Fire empties Clear Lake apartment building

The Clear Lake Fire Department responded to a fire in an eight-unit apartment building early Tuesday morning in Clear Lake. 

Residents at 2102 14th Ave. N. were evacuated as firefighters worked to extinguish an electrical fire in the ceiling of the apartment occupied by Trent Schmitt.  The report of the fire came into the Clear Lake dispatch at 4:03 a.m. Tuesday. There were no injuries.
