The Iowa Golf Association announced on Friday, Oct. 24, that Veterans Memorial Golf Club, Clear Lake, was named 9-Hole Course of the Year at the 2014 Annual Awards ceremony.

“The course has come a long way and each year it has gotten better and better, so now it’s starting to get noticed for what great shape it’s in,” said Mike Oimoen, director of golf at Veterans Memorial Golf Club.  “The grounds crew and the VMGC Board has done a great job in making improvements each and every year.  The one thing that makes this place really go is the members and the community.  Their support is truly amazing.”
