Musicologist, CL native Westover to spearhead task at hand

The Minneapolis, Minn. historian and musicologist, with a personal history in Clear Lake, has begun creating a written history of the Surf since its inception in 1933.  The project aims to create the most complete history possible of the Surf through 

   

Veteran’s Memorial Golf Course receives non-profit status from IRS

The Veteran’s Memorial Golf Club Foundation has been notified by the Internal Revenue Service that it has been designated as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.  

“It was critical that the organization receive the non-profit designation.  Those who have  supported VMGC will now be able to receive tax benefits for their contributions,” said Tom Lovell, VMGC board president.

Slippery conditions send vehicles into I-35 ditches

(Pictured right) Weather is being blamed for a single vehicle accident Monday morning just north of Clear Lake on I-35.  Shala Strickland, 21, of Burkburnett, Texas, was southbound on I-35 when the vehicle she was driving apparently hit a patch of light snow.
