City approves funding for new business

There was no new news Monday night concerning construction of a regional warehouse and distribution facility in Clear Lake for a Fortune 100 company. However, Clear Lake city leaders continue to lay the groundwork for announcement of a new business which would provide 164 full-time jobs with minimum average annual salaries of $39,000, by no later than Oct. 1, 2018.

Tournament basketball was everything it was supposed to be last week, as Clear Lake hosted its next-door neighbor and rival Garner-Hayfield/Ventura for a District semi-final game.  The game was fast, evenly played and fans were on their feet almost constantly supporting their teams. But it was the game within a game that many will remember long after the 2014 season comes to a close.

The Cerro Gordo County Board of Supervisors Tuesday have joined Clear Lake leaders in approving measures which could potentially bring a regional warehouse and distribution center here.
