Drive begins to fund development of a dog park

The Clear Lake Park and Recreation Committee is launching a fund drive to support development of a Dog Park within its Outlet Recreation Complex on 12th Avenue South.

“Since the city is putting a hard surface path in the recreation area it is time to obtain funds for the Dog

A five-page full-color layout in “Our Iowa” magazine declares Carroll and El Etchen’s farm south of Clear Lake among the “Prettiest Farms in Iowa”. 

The magazine scours Iowa to showcase an outstanding farm in every issue, noting that “nothing symbolizes our state like proudly primped and painted farmsteads.” 

   

Rising country music star looks forward to returning to her local roots this week

Those attending the first Thursdays on Main event of the summer season this week will have the opportunity to hear a rising star in the world of country music.

Elizabeth Lyons will be the featured performer from 7-9 p.m. at the corner of Main Avenue and 4th Street.  The Nashville, Tenn. artist is anxious to return to Clear Lake-- a place where she made many happy 

   

CLB&T furthers expansion into downtown Mason City

  Clear Lake Bank & Trust Company will acquire certain assets and liabilities of the two Mason City branches of Community National Bank.

QCR Holdings, Inc. announced the signing of a definitive agreement whereby Clear Lake Bank & Trust will acquire deposits of approximately $62 million and loans of $26 million from Community National Bank. The proposed transaction, which is subject to regulatory approval and customary closing conditions, is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2013.
