Air raid flattens GHV defenses

It was a night for bomb shelters, as Garner-Hayfield/Ventura (3-1) lost its first game of the year to Spirit Lake (4-0) in a 29-7 aerial assault. The Indians, ranked number three in Class 2A, totaled 274 yards in the air at an impressive 50 percent completion rate, while also managing to bring the Cardinal power run game to a grinding halt. 

   

GHV cross country teams face tough competition

The Garner-Hayfield/Ventura/West Hancock boys and girls cross country teams faced some tough competition when they traveled to the Ballard meet on Monday, Sept. 16.

The boys team placed third in the 10-team field with 114 points.  Boone was first with 41 points and Pella was 

   

A happy Homecoming for the Lions

It was a happy Homecoming for the Clear Lake Lions.  Friday night they topped Crestwood (1-2), 45-7, in their final non-conference match-up of the early season.  The win lifted the Lions to 3-0 and a sixth place ranking in Class 3A.

 

   

GHV dominates Warhawks in 59-0 beating

Garner-Hayfield/Ventura (3-0) tallied another sound win Friday night against the West Fork Warhawks in a 59-0 shellacking. For the third-straight week, GHV, who is now rated number eight in Class 2A, has shutout its opponent, while also putting up big points in each showdown.
