Cathy Ann Haugen, 64, 217 Asbury Dr., Clear Lake, died Thursday, March 8, 2012, at Muse-Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City, Iowa. According to her wishes, her body has been cremated. A visitation was held Monday, March 12, at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake. Memorials may be given to Hospice of North Iowa, 232

Cathy was born Sept. 23, 1947 in Storm Lake, Iowa, the daughter of Clyde and Bernice
(Rausch) Carrington. She graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Storm Lake. Following high school, Cathy graduated from cosmetology school. Cathy owned and operated Cathy’s Curl Harbor. For the past 20 plus years, Cathy managed the Muskie Lounge in Ventura. Cathy also managed the Golden Goose and Waterfront restaurants. Cathy married Keith Haugen on New Year’s Eve 1994. They were remarried on Friday, March 2, 2012.
Cathy enjoyed and was very proud of her grandchildren. She enjoyed working with them at the Muskie. She also enjoyed having the kids over to bake Christmas candy. Cathy enjoyed her trips with her California cousins and her best friend, Sue. Cathy planned a family and friends reunion every summer. She was the one person who kept the family together. Cathy also enjoyed going to the casinos and shopping. Cathy was raised in the Catholic Church.
Cathy is survived by her husband, Keith Haugen, Clear Lake; children, Travis (Theresa) Glidden, Garner, Iowa, Matt Glidden, Clear Lake, and Mark (Lisa) Glidden, Clear Lake; grandchildren, Cody, Autumn, Tristin and Ty Glidden, of Garner, Cassie and Callie Glidden, and Alex, Shae and Rhys Glidden, Clear Lake; sister, Connie (Bob) Bird, Clear Lake, and nieces Jackie (Matt) Firsching, Mason City and Kelly (Jay) Kuns, Ocean Springs, Miss.; and also four step-children and five step-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
