Elaine L. Hall, 99, of Clear Lake, died Sunday, March 3, 2013 at the Oakwood Care Center, Clear Lake.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 7, 2013 at the Fertile Church of Christ, Fertile, Iowa, with Rev. Dennis Ganz officiating. Interment will be in the Lincoln Township Cemetery, rural Clear Lake. Visitation will be one hour before the service. Family suggests memorials to the Fertile Church of Christ.
Elaine was born Sept. 15, 1913 on the family farm north of Fertile, the daughter of James and Emma (Luken) Kirk. She graduated from the Fertile Consolidated School in 1931. She worked in Mason City for three years.
Elaine married Hazar Hall June 28, 1936 in a double wedding with her twin sister, Loraine, marrying Michael Hall at the Fertile Church of Christ.
She enjoyed sewing, gardening, baking, fishing trips to northern Minnesota and especially painting. Elaine was a member of Fertile Church of Christ; Christian Workers; Blossom Belles Garden Club, Hanlontown; past county board member of Cerro Gordo County Farm Bureau and North Iowa Artist League.
Elaine is survived by two children, Wayne (Marilyn) Hall, Cambridge, Minn., and Marilyn (Robert) Niemi, Clear Lake; five grandchildren, Sarah (Dan ) Baxter, Isanti, Minn., Matthew Hall and his companion, John Hobday, Minnetonka, Minn., Stephen (Wendy) Hall, Maplewood, Minn., Christopher (Stephanie) Niemi, Blaine, Minn., and Mark (Teresa) Niemi, Hanlontown, Iowa; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, William Kirk, Frederick Kirk buried in Luxemburg, France, during WWII, and Horace Kirk; two sisters, Iva Suby, and her twin sister, Loraine Hall; and one grandson, Paul Niemi.
Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake, was in charge of arrangements.
