The sledding hill at Ventura was the place to be Saturday, as it was blanketed with the season’s first measurable snowfall. An estimated five-inches of snow fell on the area Friday. But the fun was short-lived, as significant melting began Monday and by today (Wednesday, Dec. 15) record temperatures approaching 50-degrees were expected. But don’t worry. This is Iowa and the weather will change in a day or two. - Reporter photo by Chris Barragy.
