Ventura boys compete at Belmond Meet

   The Ventura boys track competed in Belmond on Tuesday, April 17.  The Vikings placed fourth out of six teams.
    Two events for the Vikings picked up second place finishes.  The 1600 meter relay team of Josh Miller, Kevin Boehnke, Jon Haag and Jeff O’Brien ran the race in 4:20.57

for their runner-up finish.  Joel Toppin also got second in the 3200 meter run with a time of 10:45.76.
    Zach Zwiefel placed third in the long jump with a leap of 16’6”.  Toppin also placed third with a time of 5:07.17 in the 1600 meter run.
    O’Brian was fourth in the 3200 meter run with a time of 12:15.01.
    Also collecting points for the team was the 4x100 meter relay team of Miller, Boehnke, Haag and Zwiefel with a time of 51.20 for a fifth place finish.  Zwiefel picked up two individual sixth place finishes, one in the 100 meter dash with a time of 12.99 and the other in the 200 meter dash with a time of 26.11.
