Rescue boat delivered to city

Clear Lake now has a rescue boat available to emergency personnel.
    Mike Maulsby, owner of Clear Lake Boats, delivered the boat, a new 17-foot Tracker with a 50-horsepower Mercury motor, to the city Thursday.  Police Chief Greg Peterson and Lt. Rex McChesney were on hand to

help launch the boat into the lake and get an initial introduction to the vessel.  Clear Lake Boats will provide training to all officers so that any police officer, or member of the fire department, Sheriff’s Office, Iowa State Patrol or Department of Natural Resources can use the boat in an emergency. 
    Clear Lake Boats is also supplying a boat trailer and hoist, which has been placed at the city dock adjacent to the Main Avenue boat ramp.  CL Tel workers bored a hole from the vicinity of the Yacht Club building through the concrete retaining wall so that an electrical outlet could be stationed at the wall, providing a trickle charge to the boat’s battery and keeping it ready at all times.
