Michael R. Morris
Michael Ray Morris, 31, died Monday, April 22, 2024, at his home.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, with Rev. Melinda McVey officiating, at Ward Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 310 1st Ave. North, Clear Lake. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Inurnment will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed in the care of Susan Starrett.
Michael Ray Morris was born May 8, 1992, in Iowa City, the son of Lindsey Derl and Jane Marie (Harris) Morris. Michael graduated from Clear Lake High School continuing his education at North Iowa Area Community College and Kaplan University. He worked at Wal-mart and Masonite and was currently employed with Curries in Mason City.
Michael enjoyed hunting, Harry Potter, building Legos, collecting Poke Mon items with his children. One of his greatest loves was reading to his children, Kion and Mazikeen, attending their activities and spending time with his family. Most recent he spent time with his new puppy, Cerburus.
Michael is survived by his children, Kion Morris (7) and Mazikeen (4) and their mother, Cindel-Lee Fellows; mother, Jane Morris; siblings, Susan Starrett and Clay, Dara (Leroy) Klink, Ryan Vestweber; uncles and aunts, Ray (Donna) Harris, Kerry (Trish) Morris, Brian (Cheryl) Morris, Roxanne (Lyman) Emery; nephew, Vladimir Starrett; and niece, Anna Starrett; along with other relatives and friends.
Michael is preceded in death by his grandparents, Derl (Betty) Morris, Henry (Clara) Harris; his father, Lindsey Morris; aunt, Caroline Ammerman; nephew, Shane Starrett; and uncle, Dean Harris.
Ward Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake, is in charge of arrangements.
