Lynx sweep Lions in final regular season match

    The Clear Lake volleyball team wrapped up the regular season with a match at Webster City Tuesday, Oct. 18.  The Lynx swept the meeting, 3-0.  Scores were 25-8, 25-12, 25-17.
    Taylor Julsen and Kaitlyn Pitzen scored points with seven kills apiece.  Brianna Haugen had 4 kills for the Lions.
    Other top performances included Carly Ouverson’s 6/6 serving and eight assists. Julsen and Haugen were both 5/5

serving.  Jenna Peterson and Megan Kopriva had seven and six digs respectively.  Jeanette Davis had three kills and combined with Ryan Pierce and Emily Willms for five digs .
    “We were somewhat flat vs Webster City,” said Coach Scott Swenson.  “There is only so much coaching that you can do and it all comes back to the girls and their passion and their desire to come together and play as a team.  It has to be about them and their passion about wanting to win . “ I believe that they have it; we just need to put it together for a full match.”
    The Lions traveled to Algona on Monday, Oct. 24, for the first round of Regional play.  “All teams are now 0-0 . This is the second season, so we will go over to Algona and give our best effort,” added Coach Swenson.
