Six-day celebration will include presidential candidates in parade
Clear Lake’s traditional Fourth of July parade will also have traditional guests-- presidential candidates.
The Clear Lake Area Chamber of Commerce has received word that three Republican candidates for the presidential race will walk in Monday’s 10 a.m. parade.
Michele Bachman, who made her candidacy official on Monday with an announcement in Waterloo, will be in Clear Lake, as well as Newt Gingrich and Ron Paul. A recent Iowa Poll conducted for The Des Moines Register placed Bachman nearly even with republican presidential frontrunner Mitt Romney among GOP caucus-goers. Romney, who participated in the 2008 Clear Lake parade, will not be here this year.
