Chain reaction damages six vehicles, minor injuries

Law enforcement responded to a six-car chain reaction collision Friday afternoon in Clear Lake.
    Laverne Bernard, 73, of Estes Park, Colo. was stopped for the signal at the Highway 18 and 8th Street intersection when his vehicle was struck by a 2001 Hyundai driven by 32-year-old Melissa Randall, of

Garner.  Bernard was treated and released from Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa Friday after the accident occurred at 12:47 p.m.
    According to a report by the Iowa State Patrol, Randall’s vehicle was in turn struck from behind by a 2005 Chevrolet Equinox SUV driven by David Greiman, 67, of Garner.  He, in turn, was struck from behind by a 2005 Chevrolet Malibu driven by Kathleen Peters, 67, of Garner.  The Peters vehicle was then struck from behind by- Read More Via e-Edition
