All Vet’s center is newest ornament

    The Clear Lake Area Chamber of Commerce has announced the next ornament in its collectible ornament series will feature the All-Vets Social Center.  The ornament, which will sell for $19, is expected to be available for purchase in late July from the Chamber, 205 Main Ave.
    The ornament is the 13th in the series of collectible historical ornaments which are limited to the year of production.

    Built on the golf course in 1929 at a cost of $40,000, the All-Vet’s Social Center was a familiar north shore landmark before being torn down in 1997.  In its prime, the social center, which was 120 feet by 85 feet, was a fashionable and fun place.   The woodwork was of red gum, the ceiling paneled and painted and the floor was smooth white maple.
